Indian Air Force Switches to Online Mode of Examination

Out of the Three Services IAF Becomes the First to Embrace IT-enabled Online Testing for Cadres Induction

In an unprecedented way the Indian Air Force has now shifted to the Online Examination System for the Recruitment. Among the three defense services, the Air Force is the first one to embrace this system. The launching of this online testing for cadres took place on Monday and the web portal got released by Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre. The registration will commence from December 15 and the IT based online testing for the induction of the cadres and officers of the Air Force has been initiated with the help of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).

Earlier on October 31 to improve the system an MoU was signed with C-DAC. The implementation of the project will come to effect from the next month itself for both officer’s cadre exam Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)and the exam for Airmen cadre known as Scheduled Test for Airmen Recruitment (STAR). The new Examination system will have 760 examination centres all over the nation which is far more than the earlier 114 examination centres. This will help about four lakh students to appear for Airmen\'s selection with two lakh participating in Officer selection every six months.
