GST - Now a compulsion subject to study

Will now be introduced in class 12th Economics 

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) took a decision on how GST will be taught to the students of senior secondary classes. So from now on, the students of class 12th Economics will be studying GST as a part of their curriculum.

The decision was taken to introduce basics of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the higher secondary second year curriculum for the students, who opt for economics as one of the subjects.

\"From now on, a chapter on basics of GST will be introduced in the macro economics section of the curriculum for higher secondary second year economics students\"

Mr. Gogoi added that Hiranya Kumar Nath, economics professor, Sam Houston State University, US, has prepared the chapter on GST.

Clearing Concepts Of The Students

The major purpose behind introducing GST was to encourage students to learn and clear the concepts of the same and also to get a thorough idea and knowledge on GST, to clear the confusion over GST that prevails among the common people of the state.

In the Economics paper of the 12th class students, 10 marks will be reserved for GST. The chapter on GST contains all the basic details about GST.
