Kalvi Thanthai Late Thiru R.S.Kothandaraman, the founder of the College was born in an agricultural family. He hailed from a village in the then Sivagangai District Taluk of Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu. Although he had an immense flair for higher studies, he was unfortunate that his wish remained unfulfilled. This had left an indelible and lasting impression in his mind. In order to quench his thirst, he pledged to educate the poor in a simple and unobtrusive way. With noble thoughts coupled with lofty ideals and great expectations, he decided to start an educational institution with a plethora of innovative concepts to create a host of talented professionals. He also felt that technical education was the need of the hour to meet the growing demands of our steadily progressing economy. In pursuance of his vision, he established Sri Rangalatchumi Educational Trust in the name of his parents, in the year 1984. Following this he started an Engineering College by the name" Pacheri Sri Nallathangal Amman College of Engineering & Technology" with the permission accorded by the Government of Tamil Nadu on October 1984. He had chosen Dindigul, which is economically and educationally backward district, with an aim to help the rural folk, to uplift their life style and to provide them employment opportunity. The present campus is located in a serene sprawling 150 acres of land on , the Dindigul - Palani National Highway - 209, 10 km from Dindigul town and has an academically ambient environment.
