Khammam MP Appealed CGTMSE Scheme to Support Private Schools.

Nama Nageswara Rao, the TRS Lok Sabha party leader, and Khammam MP have appealed for the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) Scheme. He has appealed to the Centre to include the management of private educational institutes. Due to the pandemic, many of the institutions had a financial loss. For the support of these institutions, it was essential to include them under the CGTMSE Scheme.

The MP wrote a letter to the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in this regard on Thursday. Private schools are forced to close due to the outbreak of the pandemic. Around 4.5 lakh schools in the country were locked down for almost a year. The management of the schools was unable to pay the rents and pay the salary of the teaching and non-teaching staff because of this situation. It has been noted that almost five crore people\\\\\\\'s livelihoods were at the brink of loss due to the closing down of schools. Therefore, Nageswara Rao decided to appeal for the scheme to support these private schools amid the pandemic.

“To support private educational institutions that are severely suffering from the Covid crisis it has been essential to bring the institutions under the scope of the CGTMSE Scheme to increase loans,” he suggested. The decision of launching the scheme for private schools was welcome. Launching the CGTMSE scheme to assist retailers affected by the Covid crisis was a welcome decision. The Centre should ensure measures offering bank loans to non-public educational institutions from banks under the CGTMSE scheme at the earliest, he added.
