Andhra Pradesh Government has issued guidelines on the reopening of schools. The schools in the State were reopened on Monday. The off-line classes for all standards began with the decision of the State government. The decision was taken to provide better learning experiences to children in the classroom.

The government, however, directed the district collectors and education officers to take strict reviews of the covid-19 situations. Measures were also taken by the State government to ensure the safety of the children and the teachers. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) were implemented in schools. The government directed all DEOs to keep an eye on the covid positivity rate in the neighborhood.

“The local village/ward secretariat area should be taken as a perimeter to assess the positivity rate and take a call on whether to continue the classes in that particular area. The schools will remain open in the areas where the covid-19 positive cases are low,” said the education principal secretary Budithi Rajasekhar.

The Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, also asked the health officials to ensure the students strictly follow the covid-19 protocols such as wearing the mask, hand hygiene, social distancing, and so on. The CM has also asked the authorities to set up a testing facility in schools and also to ensure that school staff and faculty should be examined before entering the school premises.

The government instructed the headmasters to make no compromise in covid-19 protocols. The headmasters were advised to focus on the classes lost during the last year. And it was also advised to cover the lessons to make the students in line with their studies.
